Dr. Ramos has a specific interest in how obesity impacts clinical outcomes and non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors in kidney failure. He has conducted research in oxidative stress and inflammation in the CKD population and was a member of the faculty in the Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University. His research has been published in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and the Journal of Renal Nutrition.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, weight-lifting, traveling, and college football.
